Wedding planning event to benefit breast cancer research

The wedding season is fast approaching and brides-to-be are busy planning their perfect day. Kelley Moore, Common Folk Co. and Paper Source in Bellevue are joining forces this April to ring in the wedding season with flair.

On Saturday, April 18 from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m., Common Folk Co. will host Bridal Flair, an event featuring all of the little touches that make a wedding unforgettable including fun tips, great ideas, and giveaways.

The bridal event will raise money to benefit the Breast Cancer Research Foundation. The mission of The Breast Cancer Research Foundation. A minimum of 85 cents of every dollar donated to the Breast Cancer Research Foundation goes to research and awareness programs.

Two tabletop designs by Seattle Magazine’s Entertaining and Lifestyle Expert, Kelley Moore, will be available for viewing from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Guests will have the opportunity to shop a variety of vendors and create hands-on projects including paper flowers with Paper Source.

A cocktail hour will follow including champagne and hors d’oeuvres, while continuing to discuss all of the latest wedding and entertaining trends.

“We love providing people with the accents and style that can take something very lovely and make it fabulous,” said Common Folk Co. owner Kathryn Straub. “That same passion has translated nicely into our Wedding Flair Event. Kelley Moore is known for her attention to detail and extraordinary style. Together we want to provide brides with all of the little details that will make their special day that much more unforgettable.”

Common Folk Co. and Paper Source are excited to be able to hold an event to benefit The Breast Cancer Research Foundation.

“The connection is very natural. We are celebrating women and helping them at the same time,” explained Straub.

Ten percent of the proceeds raised on April 18 will be donated directly to The Breast Cancer Research Foundation. In addition, Author Elisabeth Squires will be discussing her new book about breast health, aging, and signs that you might want to see a doctor. Autographed copies of Wedding Planner of the Stars, Mindy Weiss’ The Wedding Book: The Big Book for your Big Day, will be available as well.

Vendors include umbrellas and parasols from Bella Umbrella, exquisite desserts from Hoffman’s Bakery and Jen’s Desserts, floral arrangements from Willow + Bloom and R. David Adams, handmade ceramic cakeplates by Clara French, TuTu Time couture watches by Dana Frank, New York Cupcakes, caketoppers from Over the Top Studios, Heaven Scent prayer boxes, Glenda Geis Handbags, necklaces by John Wind, and handmade jewelry by Terri Brush.
