Three seek seat on county conservation district

Three candidates for the open seat on the King
Conservation District (King CD) board of supervisors will go before the voters on Thursday, March 19. One of the polling places is in Bellevue at the Regional
Branch Library, 1111 110th Ave. N.E. Voting will be from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m.
Candidates seeking the post are Preston Drew, Carnation; David Mauk, Carnation; and Mark Sollitto, Seattle.
Registered voters who reside within King County are
eligible to vote in the election, with the exception of residents of cities that do not fall within the King
CD’s boundaries (Federal Way, Enumclaw, Skykomish,
Milton and Pacific). Voters must present proper
identification, such as a driver’s license, passport or birth certificate.
The King CD provides information and technical
assistance programs that are available to all
landowners within the district’s boundaries. The
district provides grants for conservation-focused
projects and programs, and initiates community outreach activities that include workshops, education programs, site visits, farm plans, and consultation on land, water, and wildlife management.
