Boys Basketball: Bellevue continues dominant run

Bellevue continued its dominance of KingCo 3A/2A play by outscoring Juanita 41-15 in the first half as the Wolverines dominated the Rebels 67-37 in Bellevue on Friday.

Aaron Bright and Alex Locke each scored 16 points for Bellevue (16-1, 9-0 league), which has won its last four games by an average of 35 points. Alex Schrempf scored 12 points to round out the Wolverines in double figures.

The Rebels (5-13, 3-6) were led by Ryon Cunnigan, who scored eight points in the loss.

Elsewhere

Mercer Island 59, Interlake 38

Peter Zajac had a game-high 17 points to push the Islanders (12-5, 7-1) past Interlake on the island.

Aaron Sweat led Interlake with nine points. The Saints dropped to 6-8 overall and 1-7 in league play.

Sammamish 44, Nathan Hale 41

Toby Wellman scored 14 points and senior David Wink added 12 to help the Totems score a non-conference victory over Nathan Hale.

Sammamish (6-11, 2-7) outscored Hale 12-8 in the final quarter to get the victory.

Redmond 63, Newport 39

Chris Harrington had 20 points to held Redmond (9-6, 7-4 KingCo 4A) knock off the Knights in Bellevue.

Zack Nicklos was the only Newport (4-12, 3-9) player in double figures. The 6-foot-4 senior scored 11 points.

Bellevue Christian 69, Cedar Park Christian 41

David Downs scored 19 points and Jeff Rerucha had 17 to help the Vikings (10-5, 8-0 Emerald City League) beat Cedar Park Christian on Saturday.
