Bellevue got a fourth quarter touchdown from Peter Nguyen to solidify a 34-27 win over California High School (San Ramon, Calif.) Sept. 20 at Qwest Field in the Best of the West Football Classic.

The Wolverines improved to 3-0 overall on the season.

Bellevue led by as much as 27-10 in the second quarter, but California charged back into the game with a productive last minute of the first half.

Bo Stompro connected with Nick Zwarg for a 42-yard touchdown pass, the Grizzlies then converted an onside kick and made a 44-yard field goal to pull within seven points at the half.

But the wing-T was just too much for California to handle as the Wolverines rushed fro 365 first half yards and 497 yards overall. Nguyen led the way with 22 carries for 223 yards and three touchdowns.

Joe Joe Connor and David Nguyen also scored touchdowns for Bellevue.
