Weekend closures of southbound I-405 in Bellevue are only six days away. During the closures crews will remove the Wilburton Tunnel.

To safely remove the tunnel, WSDOT crews need to close southbound I-405 from Southeast Eighth Street to I-90 in Bellevue for three weekends in August. The closures will take place from 11 p.m. on Friday to 5 a.m. on Monday on the following weekends:

August 8 – August 11

August 15 – August 18

August 22 – August 25

The state has created a Web page with detour maps that people can use to get around the closures (http://www.wsdot.wa.gov/Projects/i405/112thAvetoSE8th/detours.htm).
