Six receive National Merit scholarships

Six students from the Bellevue area have won National

Merit $2500 Scholarships. They were selected by a committee of college admissions officers and high

school counselors. The awards are provided by the National Merit Scholarship Corporation’s own funds.

Those winning scholarship include:

Steven T. Ambo, International School, career undecided; Alice Y. Lai, Bellevue High School, computer science; Linda Lian, Newport High School, career field not reported; Jacqueline Y. Ma, Transition School for Early Entrance Program, Seattle, education; Elizabeth J. Nuttall, The Bush School, Seattle, medicine; and Katherine S. Nelson, International School, career field undecided.
