Wolverines dominate Kangaroos

The Bellevue Wolverines cruised to a 76-29 victory against the Lake Washington Kangaroos on Dec. 1. Bellevue (1-1) will host the Interlake Saints at 7 p.m. on Dec. 8 at Bellevue High School in Bellevue.

Patriots defeat Saints

The Liberty Patriots earned a 57-37 win against the Interlake Saints on Dec. 1. Interlake (1-1) will face the Bellevue Wolverines at 7 p.m on Dec. 8 at Bellevue High School in Bellevue.

Totems lose to Islanders

The Mercer Island Islanders defeated the Sammamish Totems 52-18 on Dec. 1. Sammamish (0-2) will face the Redmond Mustangs at 6 p.m. on Dec. 8 at Redmond High School in Redmond.

Cedarcrest captures victory against Bellevue Christian

Cedarcrest registered a 34-30 win against the Bellevue Christian Vikings on Dec. 2. The Vikings (2-1) will host South Whidbey at 6:30 p.m. on Dec. 15 in Bellevue.

BOYS BASKETBALL

Vikings cruise to victory against Cedar Park Christian

The Bellevue Christian Vikings rolled to a 71-38 win against Cedar Park Christian on Dec. 1. Bellevue Christian (2-0) will host South Whidbey at 8 p.m. on Dec. 15 in Bellevue.

Totems win nail-biter against Mercer Island

The Sammamish Totems picked up their first victory of the 2017-18 season courtesy of a 52-49 triumph against the Mercer Island Islanders on Dec. 1. The Totems (1-1) will face the Juanita Rebels at 7:15 p.m. on Dec. 12 in Kirkland.

Liberty captures win against Interlake

The Liberty Patriots attained a 61-47 win against the Interlake Saints on Dec. 1. Interlake (0-2) will face the Bellevue Wolverines at 8:30 p.m. on Dec. 8 at Bellevue High School.

BASEBALL

Goucher to conduct baseball camp

Steve Goucher, who is a former professional baseball player and Atlanta Braves scout, will be conducting a baseball camp on Jan. 19 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Hidden Valley Sports Park in Bellevue. The camp, which will take place on Field No. 1, is for players between seven and 13 years of age, costs $64 for Bellevue residents and $70 for non-residents. Ifanse rushed for 2,485 yards and 44 touchdowns this past season. Bellevue, which advanced to the Class 3A state semifinals, finished with an overall record of 11-2.                                 The Lake Hills Soccer club U-14 United boys recreational division soccer team, which is coached by Rick Waedekin and Allen Salmieri, won the district II championship in its division two weeks ago. The U-14 United soccer team will compete in the Washington Youth Soccer Recreational Cup semi-finals on Saturday, Dec. 9 at Starfire Sports Complex in Tukwila. If they are victorious in the semi-finals, the team will compete in the championship game on Sunday, Dec. 10 in Tukwila.

                                The Bellevue Wolverines girls swim & dive team earned the Class 3A state championship on Nov. 11 at the King County Aquatic Center in Federal Way. The Wolverines, who compiled a total of 281 team points, won a state title for the first time since the 2006 season. Bellevue athletes Elena Acevedo, Eleanor Casey, Katie Duff, Delora Li, Janelle Rudolph, Rylee Siripipat, Aneta Wyzga, Rachel Jin and Sarah Walsh competed at the state meet. The Wolverines were coached by Andy Hay, Lisa Van Loben Sels, Mckenzie Schroder, Oey Chang and Ale Fuentes.

                                The Interlake Saints boys Cross Country squad earned second place at the Class 3A state meet at Sun Willows Golf Course in Pasco on Nov. 4. The Saints compiled 92 team points. Kamiakin captured first place with 55 team points (low score wins in Cross Country). Interlake senior Dante Paszkeicz captured ninth place individually with a time of 15:41. Saints’ senior Matthew Roberts earned 11th place with a time of 15:45.7.
