Bellevue clinches berth in Class 3A state semifinals

The Bellevue Wolverines defeated Roosevelt 1-0 in the Class 3A state soccer quarterfinals on Nov. 12 at Bellevue Memorial Stadium in Bellevue.

The Wolverines (17-0-2) will face Seattle Prep at 4 p.m. on Nov. 18 in the Class 3A state semifinals at Sparks Stadium in Puyallup.

VOLLEYBALL

Wolverines nab sixth place finish

The Bellevue Wolverines captured sixth place at the Class 3A state volleyball tournament on Nov. 12 at the Toyota Center in Kennewick. Bellevue captured victories against Arlington and Timberline at the tourney. They suffered defeats to Capital and Gig Harbor in the tournament. Gig Harbor defeated Bellevue 3-1 in the fifth/sixth place game on Nov. 12. The Wolverines finished the 2016 season with an overall record of 18-7.

                                The Bellevue Wolverines girls swim dive team earned the Class 3A state championship on Nov. 11 at the King County Aquatic Center in Federal Way. The Wolverines, who compiled a total of 281 team points, won a state title for the first time since the 2006 season. Bellevue athletes Elena Acevedo, Eleanor Casey, Katie Duff, Delora Li, Janelle Rudolph, Rylee Siripipat, Aneta Wyzga, Rachel Jin and Sarah Walsh competed at the state meet. The Wolverines were coached by Andy Hay, Lisa Van Loben Sels, Mckenzie Schroder, Oey Chang and Ale Fuentes.

                                Interlake Saints 2016 graduate Dejhion Parrish had 41 carries for 618 rushing yards and eight touchdowns during his sophomore season with the Arizona Western College football team.
