Vikings win close game against Northwest

The Bellevue Christian Vikings improved their overall record to 15-2 courtesy of a 42-40 win against Northwest on Jan. 26. Bellevue Christian (15-2) will host the Charles Wright Academy at 8 p.m. on Feb. 2 in Bellevue.

Totems earn bragging rights in rivalry matchup

The Sammamish Totems registered a 46-41 win against the Interlake Saints on Jan. 26. The Totems improved their overall record to 7-12 with the win. Interlake dropped to 2-17 overall.

Bellevue continues winning streak

The Bellevue Wolverines defeated Mercer Island 53-42 on Jan. 26. Bellevue improved their overall record to 16-3 with the win. The Wolverines have won their past nine games in a row.

GIRLS BASKETBALL

Islanders defeat Wolverines

Mercer Island earned a 50-41 win against the Bellevue Wolverines on Jan. 26. Bellevue dropped to 15-3 overall with the loss.

Totems conquer Saints

The Sammamish Totems captured a 58-51 win against the Interlake Saints on Jan. 26. Sammamish improved their overall record to 5-14 with the win. Interlake dropped to 8-11.

GYMNASTICS

Saints capture win against Liberty

The Interlake Saints registered a 149-140 win against the Liberty Patriots on Jan. 25. Interlake improved their overall record to 2-5 with the win.

Totems defeat Wolverines

The Sammamish Totems improved their overall record to 5-1 courtesy of a 157-143 win against the Bellevue Wolverines on Jan. 25. Bellevue dropped to 2-4 with the loss.

                                The Newport Knights girls softball squad finished with a record of 3-2 at the Class 4A state tournament on May 25-26 in Spokane. Newport earned victories against the Rogers Rams, Puyallup Vikings and Tahoma Bears in the tourney. The Knights lost to the Camas Papermakers and the Central Valley Bears. The Knights finished the 2018 season with an overall record of 21-8.

                                The Interlake Saints girls golf team earned second place at the Class 3A state golf tournament on May 23 at Indian Canyon Golf Course in Spokane.
                                The Saints, who compiled 90 team points, finished just 1.5 points behind first place Bellevue (91.5 team points). Interlake’s Samantha Na captured fifth place overall individually with a total of 153 strokes at the two-day tournament. Katie Kester registered a sixth place finish with 154 strokes. Bronte Polette finished in 21st place overall individually as well.

                                The Bellevue Christian Vikings softball team defeated Coupeville 14-1 in the 2018 West Central District III Class 1A championship game on May 18 at the Regional Athletic Complex in Lacey.
                                The Vikings, who have put together an overall record of 17-5 this season, have won 13 consecutive games. The Vikings will face the Cle Elum-Roslyn Warriors in the first round of the Class 1A state tournament at 10 a.m. on May 25 at Columbia Playfield in Richland.
