Financier makes large donation to Eastside Football Organization

Seattle-based financier Justin Costello, who was named president of the Eastside Football Organization, recently made a $25,000 donation to the organization. The donation is the largest single monetary contribution the program has received.

Head coach Kevin Bouwman said the donation has allowed the organization to improve its program and cut the cost of players’ fees in half.

“(The donation) has allowed us to not worry about our budget each week,” Bouwman said. “It’s given us peace of mind.”

Costello said that Bouwman and the other coaches have done a stellar job in helping to develop the program and the college players. The Eastside Bulldogs won the Northwest Junior College Football League championship in 2015, 2016 and 2018.

Bouwman said the donation will hopefully help them get their name out to men and women who are interested in continuing to play football.

According to its website, the organization “provides collegiate athletes the opportunity to develop on the field and in the classroom through our player development programs, community service and partnerships and on field training.”

“I am excited to join the Eastside Football Organization, and I am looking forward to leveraging my experience and background in finance to help this organization grow and develop,” Costello said in a press release.

Bouwman said that Costello brings a wealth of experience and knowledge to the Eastside board and football team.

“The entire organization is excited to have him on the team. Eastside has been looking into various avenues to expand our reach not only on the field but also off the field. Through Mr. Costello’s generosity, experience, and connections in the Seattle area (and beyond), Justin will allow the organization to reach these goals,” Bouwman said in a press release.
