It wouldn't be a stretch to say that Newport's opponent in tonight's winner-to-state game, Redmond, jump-started the Knights winning ways.

In fact, since Redmond embarrassed Newport 14-2 on April 23, the Knights haven't lost a game. Newport (13-8, 9-7 KingCo 4A) has won seven-straight games, including a 9-3 win over Woodinville Saturday that propelled the Knights into tonight's semi-final game of the KingCo 4A tournament. The winner of tonight's game will face the winner of today's 4 p.m. contest between Skyline and Lake Washington.

Both the KingCo Champion and runner-up receive state bids, while the losers of tonight's games will need to win again in order to have a chance to take on the GSHL in a bid for the districts final two state berths.

Winning tonight will be no small task for the Knights. Redmond (17-3, 14-2) has outscored Newport 23-3 in its two meetings thus far and has won 11-straight games. The Bellevue Reporter will be covering tonight's game live through Twitter, which can be seen at www.twitter.com/bellevuepreps and will also be streamed live here.
