Olerud inducted into WIAA Hall of Fame

Interlake alum and former Major League Baseball player John Olerud was inducted into the WIAA Hall of Fame Thursday at the Spirit of Washington Event Center in Renton.

Olerud, who led Interlake to a state championship his senior season, went on to become one of the country's top players at Washington State University and eventually played 16 years in the Major Leagues.

Olerud, who was not present at the event due to a previous family commitment, was represented by his former coach at Interlake, Bob Levitin.
