After defeating Everett 17-14 in a Class 3A Northwest District play-in game, Sedro-Woolley will meet undefeated and top ranked Bellevue tonight at 7 p.m. in a winner-to-state game at Bellevue High School.
Cody Pohren rushed for 117 yards and Derek Garcia added another 104 in the win for the Cubs (6-4) over Everett to reach the round of 32 teams.
Bellevue (9-0), meanwhile, enters the game on a roll, having not lost a game this season, most recently beating Interlake 56-14 last Friday.
The Wolverines have shown a range of weapons in the backfield this season: three different players (Will Fields, Peter Nguyen and Freddie Levine) have all rushed for over 400 yards and 11 different players have scored touchdowns.
The winner of tonight’s game will be the District two No.1 seed to state.
Bellevue looks to return to the state playoffs after losing in the state semi-finals to O’Dea High School.
O’Dea went on to lose to Skyline in the Class 3A championship game.
