Newport made a furious comeback in the fourth quarter of the 4A KingCo title game before falling just short in a 47-46 loss to Inglemoor Friday at Juanita High School.

The Knights got 18 points from Abbi Gobel and 10 more from Chiara Victor in the loss, and will be a second seed in this week's 4A Regional round.

Newport faces Skyview at Mark Morris High School at 2 p.m. Saturday, March 1 for a spot in the Tacoma Dome and 4A state quarterfinals.

Bellevue was unable to get past Cleveland in the 3A Sea-King district championship game, losing 77-49.

Kennedy, the fourth seed from its bi-district, will try and knock off the Wolverines at noon on March 1 at Bellevue College.

Bellevue boys third

Bellevue rebounded from its loss to Eastside Catholic in the Sea-King semi-finals to hammer O'Dea 74-52 in the tournament's third place game Saturday.

The Wolverines earned the third seed to this week's 3A Regional round.

Bellevue will travel to Mount Tahoma Feb. 28 to face Lincoln in the final game of the night at 8 p.m., looking to return to the 3A quarterfinals for the first time in three seasons.
