Bellevue girls soccer, Newport volleyball dominate All-KingCo selections | Prep sports news

Bellevue's Butterfield Player of the Year

The Wolverines reached the state tournament for the first time in school history this year, and picked up a host of All-KingCo honors in the process.

Senior midfielder Isabelle Butterfield was named Player of the Year, and was the only Bellevue player on the first team.

Interlake seniors Emily Johnson, a forward, along with teammates Jamiee Farrell and Emma Bergstrom all earned first team honors, as did Sammamish sophomore goalkeeper Nazarena Hernandez.

Lindsey Backous and Catie Getzendaner were second team selections for the Totems. Alexis Johnson and Sabrina Mohazzabfar were named to the second team from Bellevue, along with Interlake senior defender Sarah Williams.

Sammamish also took home the Sportsmanship award in 2A/3A.

Honorable mention

Bellevue: Clarice Bruch, Lillie French, Noelle Mitchell, Jojo Harber

Interlake: Camille Sullivan, Rachel Brous, Courtney Fedor, Julia Banfi

Sammamish: Morgan Mincy, Rachel Rock, Devon Kruse, Catherine Sent

Newport did not have a first team or second team selection in 4A KingCo girls soccer, but did share the Sportsmanship award with Ballard.

Junior goalkeeper Sydney Tomlinson, senior midfielder Melody Blake, senior defender Chiara Victor and senior defender Abbi Gobel were honorable mention selections.

Conference champs dominate volleyball honors

Newport's conference champion and state tournament squad dominated the all-conference awards, led by 4A KingCo MVP Casey Schoenlein and Russ Kerwin Coach of the Year Steve Trachy.

Senior outside hitter Anna Crabtree and senior libero Kristina Mills joined Schoenlein on the first team.

Sophomore middle blocker Avi Niece was a second team selection for the Knights, with India Gants and Isabel Mosier picking up honorable mention spots.

2A/3A All-KingCo

Bellevue junior Elise Berberoglu made the first team, while teammate Julia Pettere was a second team selection for the Wolverines.

Katie Hallberg and Lauren Patrick were honorable mention selections for Bellevue.

Interlake's Kendall Davis was a second team selection, while sisters Jacqueline and Julia Regalia were named honorable mention.

Sammamish's Christine Hunt and Olivia Hernan were named honorable mention selections for the Totems.
