Bellevue High School can’t get enough of the state of California.
The Wolverines, 2-0 against teams from the golden state in the past five years, will host four football games Sept. 20 at Qwest Field, with Bellevue headlining the event with a 7:30 p.m. game against California High School from San Ramon.
The California team finished 11-2 last season.
Kamiak and Shorewood will play the day’s first game at 10:30 a.m., followed by Woodinville and Eastlake at 1:30 p.m. Bothell, last year’s runner up in Class 4A, will play Redmond at 4:30 p.m.
The Wolverines defeated two previous California teams at Qwest Field, beating California-state powerhouse De La Salle in 2004 and Long Beach Poly in 2005.
Bellevue finished 11-2 last season, falling to state runner-up O’Dea in the Class 3A state semifinals.
Admission for the event will be $7 for students and $13 for adults. Tickets are good for all four games.
