Newport girls hoops hosting cancer awareness night

Newport High School's girls basketball team will host its fourth annual Cancer Awareness Night on Friday, Jan. 25 when the team faces Roosevelt at home in boys and girls basketball.

The girls team will wear special pink uniforms and the gym will be decorated in the same color.

Donations collected will go to Children's Hospital Clinical Cancer Services.

Alex Pitts took the diving competition and Jason Cummings, Eric Yang, Jeffery Li and Matthew Liang all won events for the Saints in the dual meet victory over Bothell.

Wrestling

Sammamish 41 Interlake 34

The Totems took down a second straight district foe with the win over rival Interlake, which came on the heels of a 39-21 dual meet win over Bellevue.
