Thanks to solid contributions from a quartet of seniors, Bellevue Christian captured its third-straight Emerald City League title with a 6-1 win over Overlake on May 1.

Jeremy Bohnett hit a double and picked up two RBIs for the Vikings (12-5, 10-3 league), who have won four games in a row. Fellow senior Kyle Taylor went 2 for 3 and scored three runs for Bellevue Christian, while two other fourth-year players, pitcher James King and catcher Jon Houck combined to allow only three hits to Overlake (9-5, 6-5).

King struck out seven and walked zero in the win, improving his record on the year to 5-2.

Bellevue Christian plays a tri-district game at Sammamish High School today at 4 p.m.

Emotionally spent Wolverines rally for win at Liberty.

Bellevue trailed Liberty 4-2 entering the seventh inning but rallied to tie the score a 4-4 when Taylor Anderson doubled off the wall in left center field to drive in the go-ahead run, then closed out the game in the bottom of inning to help Bellevue win 5-4.

Anderson, whose older brother Chase was killed April 25 in a skateboarding accident near UW, retired Liberty’s 2, 3 and 4 hitters in order to pick up the win in the Wolverine’s final regular season game.

Bellevue (11-8, 10-6) finishes the regular season on a five-game winning streak.

Mount Si finishes 8-9 overall and 7-9 in the conference.
