Each fall the Emerald City Kickoff Classic at Qwest Field unofficially kickstarts the prep football season. Next fall the Eastside Catholic football team will be a part of that event, as they’ll face off with the Eisenhower Cadets of Yakima at noon on Sept. 6 from Qwest.

Eastside Catholic, which will be moving to its new campus on the Sammamish Plateau next year, finished 8-2 overall last season.

Other games include Punahou School of Honolulu taking on Central Kitsap of Silverdale at 8 p.m., a 5:30 showdown between Kennedy of Burien and Kentwood of Covington and Puyallup taking on Bellarmine Prep of Tacoma at 3 p.m. The first game of the day will feature Fife taking on Cascade Christian of Puyallup at 9:30 a.m.
