The Wolverines got five innings of two run baseball from starting pitcher Michael Raine and two innings of scoreless work from Trent Ishii to get the win and advance to the tournament semi-finals against Lake Washington on Thursday at 4 p.m.

Ballard 6 Newport 4

The Knights saw the season end at the hands of starting pitcher Joe Jacobson of Ballard, who tossed four and one-third innings and allowed only a single run.

Three from area nominated for U.S. Army All-American Bowl

Bellevue teammates Sean Constantine and Myles Jack along with Skyline quarterback Max Browne have all received nominations for the U.S. Army All-American Bowl, which takes place January 5 in San Antonio.

400 nominees from around the country will be cut to 90 for the game.

The three are joined by six other players from Washington: Kahlil Dawson, Graham-Kapowsin; Tere Calloway, Seattle Prep; Sefo Liufau, Bellarmine Prep; Sammie Long, Lakes; Danny Mattingly, Mead; Tatum Taylor, O'Dea
