The Newport girls basketball program raised upwards of $1,200 at its recent Cancer Awareness Night on Friday, Jan. 27 at a game against Skyline.
It was the third such event held by the Knights, which donated the funds to the Katie Collier Medical Fund. Collier is a Seattle Christian senior basketball player who is fighting acute promyelocytic leukemia.
A fund has also been setup through US Bank and a donation to the Katie Collier Fund can be made at any US Bank branch.
