I am a resident of Bellevue and recently went on a mission trip to Mississippi with my church, Aldersgate United Methodist. We went to Biloxi where there still are people suffering losses from hurricane Katrina. We built and painted houses and helped renovate destroyed areas.

This experience really changed my life and I want to encourage others to go on a trip similar to this and encourage other churches to give their congregation the opportunity to experience this. This trip really did make a difference to the people we helped and it felt good inside when you could look back and see what you accomplished.

It really opened my eyes to what just one person or a group of people and a little effort can do. I think it would be fun and worthwhile for anyone to go.
