A Bellevue embarrassment

September 21, 2012 · 4:10 PM

Can we still call our city's Men in Blue "Bellevue's Finest"?

I am so ashamed for the behavior of three off-duty Bellevue policemen while attending a football game in downtown Seattle this past week. They were drunk, obnoxious and harassed not only a female Seattle Police officer, but a man with his son at the ballgame. This is embarrassing for the City of Bellevue to be represented in this fashion.

Police officers have a difficult and dangerous job. But they represent the city they are employed by and should act with decorum and maturity when out in public, and set a good example for all citizens.

I am truly ashamed for the three who acted in such a manner. Unfortunately, a few bad apples spoil the bunch. I hope some appropriate action is taken against them, so something like this will not happen in the future.
