ROY VINCENT MALMASSARI

Born Roy Vincent Malmassari on July 19, 1929, to Joseph and Irene (Bonomi) Malmassari and siblings Edith Klep, Irene Swanson and Jim Malmassari. He was raised in Issaquah on the family farm and attended Issaquah High School and was a proud member of the Class of 1947. Roy passed away on March 8, 2018 after short illness.

After high school, he enlisted in the Army and served his country in Korea as a tank mechanic. He received the Korean service medal with two bronze service stars.

Roy married Angela (Zanette) on August 4, 1951 and they had two children Fred and Mary Ann. They were married for 58 years.

Roy loved cars, Fords in particular. He earned the title of Master Mechanic presented to only four mechanics yearly. He became Service Manager and later part owner of the Ford Dealership in North Bend. He eventually found his home at Evergreen Ford where he enjoyed the company of many beloved co-workers. Roy finally retired from work in April, 2015 at the young age of 85. Roy was associated with Ford over 65 years. He was a member of the North Bend Masonic Unity Lodge and served as Worshipful Master in 1976.

Roy was preceded in death by his wife of 58 years. He is survived by his two children Fred Malmassari and Mary Ann Engberg and his son in law Doug and his two granddaughters Laura and Rebecca. He touched many lives and will be remembered for his humbleness, strength and loyalty. We were all blessed to have him in our lives. He truly was Built Ford Tough.
