Linda Lowe-Sheedy

Linda Lowe-Sheedy

Linda passed away peacefully on August 11, 2014, at home on Whidbey Island surrounded by loved ones, after a courageous battle with pancreatic cancer.

Born in 1949 in Glendale, California, Linda grew up in La Cañada, California. She was the beloved daughter of Rosemary and Osborne F. Lowe. She attended Stephens College (A.A.) and San Diego State University (B.S.). Following college, Linda began a long career as a paralegal.

Linda met the love of her life, Stephen (Steve) Sheedy, at their high school reunion in 1977. They married in 1978, and resided in Honolulu, Hawaii until 1984 when they moved to Bellevue, Washington. They greatly enjoyed living in the Sherwood Forest neighborhood of Bellevue, where they raised their three wonderful daughters and were surrounded by dear friends and neighbors.

Linda was an active participant in the Sherwood Forest Community Club and a volunteer with Girl Scouts of Western Washington. She spent many years as the Registrar for the Lake Hills Soccer Club, and was a constant advocate for the International Baccalaureate program at Interlake High School. Linda also served as a Transportation Commissioner for the City of Bellevue and on various committees and study groups involving transportation and land use matters. She wanted to be remembered as one who tried to make a difference in the community.

She is survived by her husband, Stephen Sheedy of Greenbank, Washington, and her daughters Lynn Lininger (Jason) of Renton, Justine Sheedy-Kramer (Hasko) of Salt Lake City, and Kendra LaCour (Rod) of Renton.

In lieu of flowers, remembrances may be made to the Whidbey General Hospital Foundation, or a charity of choice. A private memorial gathering will be held in September in Bellevue, Washington. Arrangements are by Visser Funeral Home.
