Beverly Doxon

Beverly Davidson Olson Doxon

Beverly Doxon of Bellevue passed away suddenly, but peacefully, at Overlake Hospital on February 5, 2013, with her daughter, Tori, by her side.

She was born Beverly Ann Davidson on June 26, 1925, in Hoquiam, WA, to Tory and Martha Davidson. Growing up in Auburn and spending summers on Anderson Island, she graduated from Auburn High School in 1943 and then attended Whitman College. In 1945 she married LeRoy (Ole) Olson. The couple resided in Auburn until 1957 when they moved to Mercer Island, and later to Bellevue in 1974. Beverly and Ole remained close to many friends in Auburn throughout their lives.

Ole died in 1995 just months before their 50th Wedding Anniversary. In 2001, Beverly married Myron Doxon, a longtime family friend. He has resided at Emeritus Memory Care Center in Bellevue since 2011.

Beverly is fondly remembered by residents of Mercer Island where, for almost 40 years, she was a friendly face at Look’s Pharmacy. She worked there continuously from 1961 and retired when the store closed. Friends and family would agree that Beverly was youthful in spirit, and in her attitude and actions for all of her 87 years on earth. Her love for her family and her constant smile and laughter live on in their hearts.

Beverly is survived by her husband, Myron Doxon; her daughter, Tori Olson (Bellevue, WA); her granddaughter, Amanda Steinvall (Eugene, OR); Amanda’s sister, Charmaine Steinvall (Maple Valley, WA) and their father, Gary Steinvall (Newcastle, WA).

Private services are pending. Beverly’s wish was to be cremated and her ashes scattered at Cannon Beach, OR, her favorite place in the world. Her family will honor those wishes later this summer. She would be touched if remembrances by friends be made to their favorite charity in her name. Memories of Beverly may be shared and photos viewed at the Sunset Hills Funeral Home website:
