Tom Magers has announced his candidacy for the open City Council Position number 7 in Newcastle. Magers is currently Chair of the Newcastle Planning Commission and has served as a Commissioner for the past seven years.

“I’ve contributed to Newcastle as a volunteer and advisor to the Council for years”, Magers said. “It’s now time to engage the community directly to earn their support and represent them on the City Council.”

Magers brings a solid business management background to the table. His experience includes eight years of international business as a Director with two major U.S. corporations while living in Mexico. His engineering education (UW graduate) and years of senior business management will provide leadership and focus on financial and policy issues that will decide the future of Newcastle.
