The Bellevue Fire Department welcomed a new deputy chief, battalion chief and lieutenant last week.

Todd Dickerboom was sworn in as the new deputy chief of support services on Dec. 2. He will replace former deputy chief Marty LaFave, who retired a few days prior. The department said that LaFave’s retirement allowed for the three promotions.

Dickerboom has been with the Bellevue Fire Department for three decades and was previously a battalion chief.

Keith Allen was also promoted to battalion chief during the ceremony and will oversee Battalion 1.

The department also promoted firefighter Luke Steere to the position of fire lieutenant. He will be assigned to Engine 9 in Bellevue’s Newport Hills/Newcastle area.

The department is also anticipating creating a new captain position early next year. It has not been announced who will fill the role.
