Open House for Cougar Mountain Montessori

Cougar Mountain, which has operated in Eastgate for 36 years, has become a nonprofit organization and will, over the coming year, proceed with demolition and reconstruction of its 15th Avenue Southeast campus.

Cougar Mountain Montessori school will hold an open house for children and parents interested in finding out more about the school’s operations and changes in the organization’s structure.

The open house will be held 10 a.m. to noon on Wednesday, Aug. 27. The open house will be held at 15318 S.E. Newport Way in Bellevue.

Cougar Mountain, which has operated in Eastgate for 36 years, has become a nonprofit organization and will, over the coming year, proceed with demolition and reconstruction of its 15th Avenue Southeast campus. The school’s operations are currently split across three locations, including the former Absorbent Mind Montessori School campus in Lake Hills and its newest classes, leased out of Eastgate Congregational Church on Newport Way.

The Montessori method teaches children through guided play (“work”) with educational toys (“materials”).

Cougar Mountain enrolls students from the ages of 2 years and 9 months to 6 years old.
