Northeast 8th Street collision sends eight to hospital

Shortly before 11:48 a.m., when Bellevue police and fire units responded, a silver sedan traveling westbound crossed into oncoming traffic and collided with two vehicles.

Eight people ranging in age from 4 to 56 years old were transported to Overlake Hospital with minor injuries Thursday, following a collision on Northeast Eighth Street between 148th Avenue Northeast and 156th Avenue Northeast. Northeast Eighth Street was closed for nearly four hours as police investigated the scene.

Shortly before 11:48 a.m., when Bellevue police and fire units responded, a silver sedan traveling westbound crossed into oncoming traffic and collided with two vehicles. The sedan then spun out and struck a pedestrian on the sidewalk, according to a spokesperson from the Bellevue Police Department.

The driver, a 20-year-old woman, was among the individuals taken to Overlake for medical treatment.
