Serial slasher: Officers responded to multiple reports of cars’ tires being slashed along 106th Avenue Northeast and Northeast 8th Street.

Aug. 23

Home invasion: A homeowner in the 1600 block of West Lake Sammamish Parkway NE heard a noise downstairs and found a woman entering through a window. The homeowner yelled, and the woman and her male partner ran toward Mallard Lane. Nothing was taken from the home.

Mad man arrested: A man who had just been discharged from Overlake Hospital Medical Center was upset and threw a knife into the windshield of a car in the parking lot. He was located 30 minutes later and was taken into custody.

Opening mailboxes: A man reported seeing a couple of people driving and opening mailboxes on 168th Avenue Northeast at Northup Way. The vehicle fled when the reporting party tried to take a picture. The vehicle was not located, and no loss was identified at press time.

Aug. 25

Pranking punk: A very intoxicated woman called 911 to report that her husband was also intoxicated, had passed out and had likely had a concussion. She hung up several times, at one point stating it was a prank call. The 911 operator was uncertain if the caller was safe, so police and fire crews went to the caller’s hotel room in the 600 block of Bellevue Way NE. The woman at first refused to open the hotel room door. When she finally did, she was uncooperative and denied calling 911. Her husband was checked by medics and was fine.

Reckless driver: A subject called 911 after witnessing a person who was driving at a high rate of speed southbound on 102nd Avenue fail to successfully turn onto Northeast 8th Street and crash into a 8-inch diameter tree. The subject was cited for reckless driving.
