Botox thief arrested after allegedly stealing cosmetic services on Eastside

Tips led Kirkland police to 30-year-old suspect.

Kirkland police have arrested Lauren Klavano, a suspect wanted on warrants due to the alleged theft of Botox at multiple Eastside locations.

Klavano was taken into custody on July 26, in Auburn where she had an unrelated, scheduled court appearance, Kirkland police said. She faces three counts of theft in the second degree and one count of attempted theft in the second degree — in relation to three incidents in Kirkland and Bellevue.

On July 5, the suspect had an appointment with DermaVita, located on Lake Street in Kirkland. After receiving Botox treatments, she allegedly told staff she left her wallet in her car. She left, to go retrieve her wallet the business staff thought, but she never returned. The stolen treatment costs upwards of $2,000.

In Bellevue, the Naficy Plastic Surgery and Rejuvenation Center reported a similar occurrence.

In November 2018, the suspect went in for treatment and was the last appointment of the day. After receiving injections she told employees she needed to step outside. She left, after using a fake name and never returned.

She left behind an empty “decoy purse and cell phone,” Bellevue Police Department spokesperson Meeghan Black said. Another Bellevue location reported a similar incident on Feb 21.

Police were able to get a visual of the suspect from the Kirkland business. Employees took a full-faced image of the suspect, while the suspect allegedly denied the Bellevue business the ability to shoot a photo of her entire face and the after effects of the injections.

Kirkland detective James Hill said he recognized Klavano from a prior drug investigation. And it was tipster information that helped identify Klavano and aided police in locating the suspect.
