Bellevue residents soak up the winter sun

With temperatures in the low 60s, near record highs for January, people flocked to parks and playgrounds with their families to enjoy the unseasonably warm weather.

While the Northeast wrestles with feet of snow and ice, the Pacific Northwest enjoyed some of the warmest temperatures on record with several areas reporting mid to low 60 degree highs.

Although the days are fairly short, that didn’t stop many families from soaking up every last ray of the sun Monday.

Gillian McCracken, of Bellevue, spent a good portion of the early evening with her children Charley, 5 and 1/2, and Cal 3 and 1/2, playing with their friend William Fassnacht 3 and 1/2, and his mother Jennifer Fassncht at Clyde Beach Park as the last light of the unseasonably warm weather dipped below the horizon.
