Sleeping Bellevue sailor wakes up beached in Oregon

A retired Bellevue doctor fell asleep while sailing near the Oregon coast and found himself beached in the town of Newport, according to Portland-based KGW.com.

Dispatchers received calls about the man's stranded 38-foot yacht on Friday around 8 a.m.

The 77-year-old live-aboard owner from Bellevue was found on the beach suffering from hypothermia. He was taken to a local hospital.
