Eddie Bauer will open a new flagship store in Bellevue Square on Friday, July 23.

The new location is lodge inspired, bringing the spirit of the outdoors into the store. It will also be the first of its kind in the Seattle area, with a new store prototype that reflects the Eddie Bauer brand and heritage.

The new store grand opening festivities will feature special guests Jim Whittaker, the first American to summit Mt. Everest, and First Ascent Guide Ed Viesturs, America’s premier high-altitude mountaineer and the first American and fifth person to summit all 14 of the world’s 8000-meter peaks, all without the use of supplemental oxygen.

A ribbon cutting ceremony will take place at 9:30 a.m. To celebrate the grand opening, Eddie Bauer will welcome customers to meet Whittaker and Viesturs and offer special promotions and giveaways throughout the weekend including:

· Free $20 savings cards to the first 100 people in the door each day on Friday, Saturday and Sunday (July 23-25). Valid only at Bellevue Square on opening weekend. No minimum purchase.

· Every customer on Friday, Saturday and Sunday (July 23-25) receives a card to save 15, 20 or 30 percent on his/her entire purchase.

· Eddie Bauer will also sponsor a free climbing wall at Bellevue Square’s Center Court on Saturday, July 24 from 11 a.m. until 6 p.m. All participants can obtain their “Passport to Climb” in the Eddie Bauer Bellevue Square store.
