Bellevue School Board chairman Peter Bentley resigned from the board Monday, becoming the second school board member to do so this year, the Seattle Times reports.

Long-time board member Judy Bushnell retired earlier this year before her term expired. Bellevue Schools Foundation president Betsy Johnson replaced her.

Bentley has been with the board for 13 years, and would have been up for re-election next year. He said it was time to resign because he is changing jobs, and he no longer has children in the district.

The school board has 90 days to fill his position.
