The man who pistol whipped a woman outside her Bellevue workplace Wednesday evening apparently committed suicide, police say.
Bellevue police found the dead body of Jay Blake Williams, of Mercer Island, around 1:30 a.m. today in a van on the 1700 block of 112th Ave. NE. He had a gunshot wound to the head.
Williams waited in the parking lot of his ex-girlfriend's workplace, located on the 1200 block of 112th Ave. NE at Bellevue Commons, and then approached her as she walked to her vehicle, according to police.
The man threatened her life and struck her in the face and head several times with a pistol, police said.
The victim made it back to her workplace, where other employees called 911.
Medics transported the woman to Harborview Medical Center, where she is in satisfactory condition. She had serious injuries, according to police.
Williams left a suicide note in his home, but his whereabouts were unknown until early this morning, police said.
A patrol officer driving through the Hidden Valley Office Park noticed William's van and called for backup.
Police discovered the man dead in his vehicle with a gun near his body on the vehicle's floor.
