Medical Teams International’s disaster relief teams arrived safely in Haiti this past week, following the devastating earthquake that killed an estimated 70,000 people in Haiti.
With local offices in Bellevue and Redmond, Medical Teams International gathered a team of veteran volunteers from the Seattle and Portland area to fly down to Haiti for medical emergency response.
The organization is also mobilizing shipments of medical supplies and distribution of financial aid to help in response to the Haiti crisis.
Medical Teams International volunteer doctors and nurses are now in place, performing orthopedic surgeries and treating hundreds of people each day at the 350-bed Kings Hospital, just outside Port-au-Prince.
To help support the relief effort by Medical Teams International, donations of $10 can be made by texting “HOPE” to 253-83.
