A missing Bellevue hunter who failed to return home at sundown Tuesday as expected has been found.

The 76-year-old Bellevue man was found in his row boat near Hat Island in Padilla Bay. Rescuers said currents had carried the hunter from the Swinomish Channel to the island, where his boat got trapped in mud.

A helicopter spotted the man's boat, and the man was plucked from his boat. The man was not injured, rescuers said.

The man had gone out hunting at 8 a.m. Tuesday. Earlier in the evening, local officials located the hunter's dog, gear and vehicle.
