Drivers should plan ahead for a one-lane closure on the eastbound SR 520 bridge for one night next week in Seattle.

Crews will close the right lane on the eastbound SR 520 bridge between 1-5 a.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 6 to drill several pavement test sections.

The closure is weather dependent and if crews are unable to go out on Jan. 6, they will go out on an alternate night, currently scheduled for Friday, Jan. 8.

Crews will be using the core samples to test the depth and durability of the bridge’s pavement to help plan and design for future all-electronic tolling on the SR 520 bridge.
