Bellevue ranked safe city in national study

Bellevue has been ranked the 343rd-worst city for crime, far better than any other city in the state.
The report, compiled by Washington, D.C.-based publisher CQ Press, examines FBI statistics for murder, rape, robbery, aggravated assault, burglary and motor vehicle theft when determining its annual rankings.
Among Washington cities, Tacoma is No. 34, Kent is No. 83, Yakima is No. 88, Everett is No. 90, Spokane is No. 121, Federal Way is No. 141, Vancouver is No. 215, Spokane Valley is No. 261 and Bellingham is No. 286.
Nationally, Camden, N.J., ranks No. 1 for the most crime, St. Louis is No. 2 and Oakland, Calif., is No. 3 on the list.
