Helene Gosling Rexford, formerly of Bellevue, died at the Emerald Heights Retirement Community in Redmond on June 20. She was approaching her 98th birthday.

She was a graduate of Punahou School in Honolulu, class of 1929, Oberlin Conservatory

of Music in Ohio where she majored in piano and minored in organ and she did graduate studies in elementary education at the University of Washington.

Mrs. Rexford taught in the Bellevue school system for many years, was a 65-year member of the

PEO Sisterhood and a frequent substitute organist at churches in her community. She was a member of the Bellevue Presbyterian church.

She is survived by her daughter, Jean Ellen Deming of Bozeman, Mont.; grandsons Bifford Todd Deming of Bellevue, and Clayton John Deming of Cardwell, Mont.; and sister Peggy Gosling Nesbitt of Basking Ridge, New Jersey. She was preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth John Rexford, and son Richard Allen Rexford.

The family suggests donations to the Emerald Heights Corwin Center Fund, 10901 176th Circle NE, Redmond 98052-7218

There will be a service in her memory at a future date.
