A van carrying four juveniles struck a police cruiser near Bellevue Square during the early morning of Feb. 16, possibly totaling the car, according to Bellevue police.

The officer involved was treated for minor injuries at a hospital and released.

The four juveniles involved were two males and two females.

Police arrested the van driver, as well as a passenger who had a warrant, according to Bellevue Police spokesman Ofc. Greg Grannis.

The van was traveling southbound on Bellevue Way around 5 a.m. when it hit the police cruiser, which was heading westbound on Eighth Street.

Police are still investigating the cause of the accident and whether drugs or alcohol were involved. Charges are possible pending the outcome, Grannis said. He added that the department is convinced that the police officer had a green light.
