The southbound HOV lane on I-405 was shut down Tuesday morning after a King County sheriff's deputy crashed her patrol vehicle into a Jersey barrier.

The accident occurred about 6 a.m. The officer was treated for cuts on her face at Overlake Hospital and released. The HOV lane was reopened at about 7:45 a.m.

The deputy, a 15-year veteran, was driving southbound on I-405 just north of Northeast Eighth Street when her vehicle left the roadway and struck the barrier, according to the State Patrol.
