Gloria Sahlin Christensen of Bellevue died Monday, Jan. 19, 2009 in Seattle. She was 82.

Mrs. Christensen was born June 25, 1926 in Tacoma to David and Edith Sahlin. She graduated from the University of Puget Sound where she received her degree in Home Economics and a minor in Music.

She married Lawrence Christensen in 1951 and moved to Portland, Ore., where they spent the next 27 years raising their family before moving to Bellevue in 1980. He preceded her in death in 2005.

Mrs. Christensen is survived by daughters, Jane (Bruce) Cramer of Portland; Marilyn (John) McCracken of Mill Creek; brothers, Dvid Sahlin and Edward Sahlin of Tacoma; and five grandchildren.

Burial will be 2 p.m. Friday, Jan. 30 at New Tacoma Cemetery. A memorial service will be held 2 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 31 at Newport Covenant Church, 12800 SE Coal Creek Pkwy, Bellevue.

The family suggests remembrances in Mrs. Christensen's name to Newport Covenant Church.
