Parents can learn how to protect their children from cyber abuses, online bullying and other risks Wednesday at a program at Youth Eastside Services.

The program, “Safe Surfing: Old Threats, New Technologies,” will be from 7-8:45 p.m. and will involve a panel discussion that is part of the the 2008 Microsoft Parenting Lifeline Community Speakers Series. It is sponsored by Microsoft and supported by Boeing, and the Redmond Reporter and Bellevue Reporter newspapers.

Experts in technology, law enforcement and parenting will discuss cyber abuse and risks, with ample time for questions. New technology channels and devices will be explored along with best practices for protecting against cyber dangers. Participants will leave with resource materials outlining how to keep kids safe online.

YES is located in Crossroads Park, 999 164th Avenue N.E., Bellevue.
