The man arrested for impersonating a police office to have sex with a prostitute has been identified as Sasidhar Vanapalli, 27, a Microsoft employee who lives in Bellevue.
Vanapalli faces first-degree extortion and first-degree criminal impersonation charges in the case, which Bellevue Police said occurred on Oct. 3. Bellevue Police arrested Vanapalli last week.
Vanapalli also has been arrested for a similar incident in Redmond which occurred on Oct. 17. He is being held at King County Jail on $500,000 bail.
Vanapalli, who “does not appear” to have any prior criminal history, worked at Microsoft, according to charging papers, which also said he has been in the country for one year and is not a U.S. citizen.
