McBride adds endorsements

Former Kirkland Mayor Joan McBride has received endorsements from U.S. Rep. Suzan DelBene, and state Reps Cyrus Habib and Ross Hunter in her bid to unseat fellow Democrat Rodney Tom in the state Senate for the 48th District.

Democrats are unhappy with Tom for joining with Republican in the state Senate to form a majority coalition in that body.

McBride, who served on the Kirkland City Council for 16 years and recently stepped down as mayor, is making education, transportation, and quality of life the cornerstones of her campaign.

The 48th District includes part of Bellevue along with Kirkland, Redmond, Clyde Hill, Hunts Point, Medina, and Yarrow Point.
