Bellevue police to run drug take-back Saturday
Do you have expired or unwanted prescription medications? Don't flush them down the toilet: individual medicine disposal has created a measurable presence of chemicals in the water supply, according to the Environmental Protection Agency.
The Bellevue Police Department is partnering with the United States Drug Enforcement Administration for a "Take-Back" initiative to be run out of the department's City Hall, Factoria and Crossroads offices.
A uniformed officer will be on hand to help visitors anonymously dispose of controlled, uncontrolled and over-the-counter medications, Officer Carla Iafrate said. No identification will be requested or required.
The program will run Saturday, Oct. 26, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
