Councilmember Davidson endorses Vandana Slatter
Councilmember Don Davidson who has served on-and-off on the Bellevue City Council since the 1980s--and twice as mayor--endorsed Vandana Slatter for the position 6 seat, soon after conceding.
“Vandana Slatter is an independent thinker with the thoughtful approach needed to work collaboratively and effectively on the Council, to protect what makes Bellevue special," said Davidson in a statement. "Additionally, her business experience in a leading global industry uniquely qualifies her to support Bellevue’s local economy and prosperity.”
Early primary results indicated a close race between Davidson and Slatter. At the most recent count, Davidson had 25.16 percent of the vote to Slatter's 26.32 percent. Robinson took an easy lead with 48 percent.
In response to his endorsement, Slatter said of Davidson: "I hope to follow in his tradition of respectful public service while working to protect Bellevue’s quality of life, preserve our unique neighborhoods and support efficient transportation for our community.”
